Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz to undergo medical tests for fever

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud will undergo medical tests on Sunday due to “high temperature and joint pain,” according to the state news agency SPA.

The examinations will take place at the royal clinics in Al Salam Palace, Jeddah. The 88-year-old king was last admitted to the hospital in April for a routine checkup.

King Salman, who became the ruler of Saudi Arabia in 2015 after serving as crown prince and deputy premier for over two and a half years, is also the custodian of Islam’s holiest sites.

On April 25, King Salman underwent a routine medical checkup.
