WEB DESK: In a speech on Monday at the Mother Emanuel AME Church, President Joe Biden faced interruptions from individuals expressing their discontent with his unwavering support for Israel in its conflict with Hamas.

Protesters called for a ceasefire in Gaza, emphasizing the plight of innocent Palestinians affected by the ongoing hostilities.

The chant of “ceasefire now” clashed with audience members echoing “four more years.” Undeterred, Biden assured the crowd that he was actively collaborating with the Israeli government to scale back its operations in Gaza.

It’s worth noting that the Mother Emanuel AME Church holds significant historical importance, as it was the site of a tragic shooting in 2015, where nine black parishioners were killed during a Bible study session.

In a separate international development on the same day, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the Winter Tent in Al-Ula.

The discussions centred around regional and international issues, with a particular focus on efforts to achieve security and stability.

The latest developments in the situation in Gaza were also a crucial part of the conversation, highlighting the ongoing global concerns surrounding the conflict.
