ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat has been issued a show cause notice, once again, for violating party discipline.
The show-cause notice was issued to Sher Afzal Marwat by PTI’s Additional Secretary General, Firdous Shamim Naqvi.
“You are not only a Member of the National Assembly but also a member of the Core Committee. You are fully aware of the party’s policies, including those regarding the ongoing negotiations with the government,” the notice stated.
The notice highlighted that no party member is allowed to make “any negative or derogatory remarks” against the party or any central office-bearer of the party.
“Despite clear instructions from the founder chairman, Imran Khan, you made derogatory comments against PTI’s Secretary General. Additionally, you made negative comments about the ongoing negotiations,” it added.
The notice termed these actions a blatant violation of party policies and instructions issued by the founder chairman.

“This matter was brought to the notice of the founder chairman, who directed that a show-cause notice be issued to you. You have spoken without considering the damage caused to the party by your statements,” the notice further read.
Sher Afzal Marwat has been asked to clarify his position within seven days.
He has also been advised to refrain from appearing in public media and representing the party during this period. Moreover, the notice warned against creating further issues or controversies in violation of the founder chairman’s instructions.
In response, Sher Afzal Marwat has distanced himself from media appearances.
“On the advice of friends, I have decided to stay away from electronic media for a week or two,” said Sher Afzal Marwat.
“I request my friends in the media not to insist on my participation in programs,” he added.
