Five female terrorists arrested by CTD in Lahore, Sheikhupura

LAHORE: The Counter-Terrorism Department of Punjab has arrested five women terrorists from Lahore and Sheikhupura by conducting intelligence-based operations.
The arrested women are believed to be members of militant group, Islamic State (IS) or Daesh
Spokesman for the CTD said that in view of possible acts of terror, the department carried out operations and arrested three women from Lahore and two from Sheikhupura.
The spokesman said banned literature, cellphones, weapons and cash were recovered from those taken into custody namely Fakhira, Saadia, Aiman, Javeria and Faiza.
Eight terrorists killed in CTD operations
He explained that cases had been registered against them and investigation was underway.
Giving further details, the spokesman said that the CTD, in its 308 combing operations in the province during the ongoing week, had arrested 76 suspected persons.
“In all, 15,225 people were questioned,” he said, adding, “The CTD is striving to achieve the target of ‘Safe Punjab’, and it is committed to eradicating terrorism.”
