HARARE: Sri Lanka XI clinched Zimbabwe in the T20I decider after accomplishing a competitive target of 191-run, where unbeaten Kamil Mishara remained player of the match after scoring 73 off 43 balls and Dushmantha Chameera player of the series.

The Lions started their innings by sending Pathuma Nissanka and Kusal Mendi in the opening. They contributed 33 off 20 and 30 off 17 each respectively before being downed. This created a momentum for the forthcoming batters, who were Kamil Mishara and Kusal Perera. The bowlers were found completely helpless after seeing they way they encountered.

Seasoned batters Kamil Mishara and Kusal Perera played amazingly at crease until claiming the Zimbabwe T20I decider. Mishara contributed unprecedented 73 off 43 balls, while Perera added beautiful 46 off 26 balls, exceeding two runs extra to claim the victory. They concluded the game within 17.4 overs without harming the next middle order batters of their side.

From Zimbabwe side, Marumani remained the only player who scored 51 off 44 balls while the rest of the players couldn’t contribute significantly, including Sikandar Raza who scored just 28 off 18 balls.

Zimbabwe XI clinched the second T20I of the three-match series on Saturday, successfully chasing a modest target of 80 set by Sri Lanka. With 34 balls to spare, Zimbabwe crossed the finish line at 84-5, sealing a 5-wicket win and leveling the T20I series 1-1.

The Lions had also won the opening match of the series by four wickets, with an unbeaten knock of 41 off 16 balls by Kamindu Mendis earning him the Player of the Match award.
