COLOMBO: Pakistan bowled out Sri Lanka at 166 runs in 48.4 overs on first day of second Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo on Monday.
Leg spin bowler Abrar Ahmed and Naseem Shah have proven to be the major threat for the Sri Lankan batsmen during the first innings, with Ahmed taking 4 wickets and Naseem securing 3 wickets.
Dhanajaya de Silva managed to score 57 runs before being dismissed by Ahmed, with Saud Shakeel taking an astute catch. Abdullah Shafique also took a striking catch at short leg off Abrar, eliminating Sadeera Samarawickrama, who faced the same fate for the third time in this series.

Earlier, Shan Masood provided an early breakthrough with a brilliant throw that resulted in a run-out. Shaheen Shah Afridi further dismissed Kusal Mendis in the seventh over, knocking the hosts’ batting lineup.
The right arm pacer Naseem Shah continued to be a tormentor for the opponents and took back-to-back wickets, eliminating Angelo Mathews and Dimuth Karunaratne in just two overs close to the 15th.
During the lunch break, Sri Lanka struggled at 79-4, with de Silva and Dinesh Chandimal walking off the field under the mounting pressure from Pakistan’s formidable bowling attack.
