PSL 10: Karachi Kings crush Multan Sultans by 87 runs

LAHORE:  Karachi Kings delivered a commanding performance in the 20th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10, defeating Multan Sultans by a massive margin of 87 runs at the Gaddafi Stadium on Thursday.

Batting first after winning the toss, Karachi Kings posted an imposing total of 204 for 4 in their 20 overs, thanks to a blistering half-century by James Vince and a late flourish from Khushdil Shah.

Openers David Warner and Tim Seifert gave Karachi a flying start with a 53-run stand. Seifert fell for 22, followed shortly by Warner who made 30.

Umair Yousuf managed just one run before departing, but Vince steadied the innings with a crucial 78-run partnership with Irfan Khan Niazi, who chipped in with 40.

Vince remained unbeaten on 65 off 45 balls, hitting 2 sixes and 5 fours, while Khushdil Shah smashed an unbeaten 33 off just 13 balls.

For Multan, Ubaid Shah took 2 wickets, while David Willey and Curtis Campher claimed one each.

Chasing 205, Multan’s batting line-up collapsed under pressure. Skipper Mohammad Rizwan departed for a duck in the second over, followed by a string of quick dismissals.

Kamran Ghulam (29) and Yasir Khan (26) were the only batters to offer resistance, as the team was bowled out for just 117 in 16.6 overs.

Mohammad Nabi starred with the ball for Karachi, grabbing 3 wickets, while Khushdil Shah and Mir Hamza took two apiece. Aamir Jamal also chipped in with a wicket.
