Pakistan clinches T20 series victory against West Indies

LAUDERHILL: Pakistan has defeated the West Indies by 13 runs in the third and final T20I, securing a 2-1 series win, bringing a much needed relief to the nation pinning hope onto the team.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Pakistan posted 189/4 in 20 overs. Sahibzada Farhan top-scored with 74, supported by Saim Ayub’s 66. Hassan Nawaz contributed 15, while Muhammad Haris (2), Khushdil Shah (11), and Faheem Ashraf (10) added to the total.

For the West Indies, Jason Holder, Roston Chase, and Shamim Joseph claimed one wicket each.

In response, the West Indies reached 176/6 in 20 overs. Jewell Andrew made 24, Rutherford scored 51, and Alec Athense contributed 60.

Pakistan’s bowling effort was well-rounded, with Hasan Ali, Muhammad Nawaz, Haris Rauf, Saim Ayub, and Sufyan Muqeem each taking a wicket.

The victory gave Pakistan the series, as they won 2-1.

PCB CHAIRMAN CONGRATULATES TEAM GREEN

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has congratulated the national cricket team on winning the T20 series against West Indies. He praised hard work, determination and teamwork of the team.

“National players have made the nation proud by winning the series,” Naqvi said, adding, “Hopefully the national cricket team will continue to achieve successes in the future.”
