Among the top-order batters, only Pratika Rawal was able to build any significant momentum. She played a composed knock of 37 off 59 balls, including three fours and a six, anchoring the innings early on.

However, Smriti Mandhana, batting at No 2, managed just 8 off 10 balls, hitting two boundaries before falling to Sri Lanka’s Udeshika Prabodhani. The middle order faltered briefly, with Jemimah Rodrigues dismissed for a duck and wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh contributing only 2 runs.

Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur added a quick 21 off 19 balls, while Sneh Rana provided a late surge with a fiery 28 off just 15 deliveries, ensuring India finished strong at 269 all out.

Sri Lanka’s experienced pace duo of Prabodhani (40) and Achini Kulasuriya (35) kept things tight, maintaining pressure with disciplined lines. Despite the breakthrough, India have rotated the strike well to keep the scoreboard moving.

At the end of ten overs, India has 40 overs still to play in their innings. Sri Lanka will look for further inroads, while India aim to build a solid platform for a competitive total.
