Four of six abducted footballers rescued, official confirms

WEB DESK: Balochistan’s Additional Chief Secretary Saleh Nasir confirmed on Friday that four of the six abducted footballers from Dera Bugti have been successfully recovered. Nasir attributed this achievement to the collaborative efforts of local authorities and law enforcement agencies.
According to Geo, Nasir expressed confidence in the eventual recovery of the remaining two footballers, offering assurance of their impending return.

The incident took place earlier this month on September 9 when six footballers, hailing from Dera Bugti and Sui, were kidnapped while en route to Sibi for participation in the qualifying round of the All Pakistan Chief Minister Gold Cup football tournament.

Meanwhile, Interim Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti blamed terrorists for the kidnapping and explained that various teams, including the Frontier Corps and local law enforcement, are actively working to find the suspects and rescue the players.
