LAHORE: The Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) has announced key appointments within the opposition ranks of the Punjab Assembly. SIC chief Sahibzada Hamid Raza announced the appointments here on Tuesday.

Explaining the decision, Sahibzada Hamid Raza noted that Mian Aslam Iqbal, the initial nominee for the opposition leader’s position, faced hurdles in taking the oath as a member of the assembly (MPA).
Therefore, after consultations with Mian Aslam and former chairman of allied Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan, the SIC proceeded with the new appointments.
He clarified that Bhachar’s appointment is temporary until Mian Aslam takes oath. After that, the initial nomination will be restored.
