PTI calls for emergency senate session to discuss humanitarian crisis in Gaza

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has taken a step towards addressing the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza by deciding to submit a requisition for an emergency session in the Upper House of the Parliament. The requisition is aimed at discussing the Israeli aggression and war crimes in Gaza against the oppressed Palestinian populace.

A statement issued to the media says Senator Barrister Ali Zafar will submit the requisition to the Chairman Senate shortly, with the endorsement and verification from PTI Senators. The primary objective is to spark a comprehensive discussion on the ongoing humanitarian crisis perpetuated by Israeli military actions in Gaza.

The party seeks to highlight the necessity and significance of holding Israel accountable for war crimes, pursuing a sustainable solution to the Palestine issue under the ambit of international law, according to the statement.

“Through this requisition, PTI extends an invitation to other political factions present in the House to unite in raising a collective voice against the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza.”
