Former FM Riaz Hussain Khokar passes away

ISLAMABAD:  Former Foreign Minister Riaz Hussain Khokar passed away here on Tuesday due to protracted illness. He was 81 years old.

According to family sources he was suffering from heart condition.

His Namaz-e-Janaza will be held today at 6:00 pm at H-8 graveyard

Meanwhile the meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs was postponed due to the death of Riaz Hussain Khokar.

The foreign committee meeting was adjourned on the special request of caretaker foreign minister Jail Abbas Jilani.

A briefing on the situation arising from the decision of the Supreme Court of India on occupied Kashmir was part of the agenda.

Meanwhile, Pakistan People’s Party leader Sherry Rehman has expressed grief over the death of Riaz Khokar and said that he was always a strong supporter of progressive Pakistan.

She expressed her heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Riaz Khokhar.
