Nawaz no more legally disqualified, will return next month: Shehbaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif has claimed that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif is no more ineligible, emphasising that the era of his disqualification has come to an end.
Speaking at Hum News programme “News Line”, Shehbaz said that Nawaz Sharif is scheduled to make a come back to the country next month.
Acknowledging the anticipation around Nawaz Sharif’s potential return, PM Sharif underscored that he cannot specifically confirm the date regarding his return.
The prime minister asserted that as part of the ongoing engagement with various political stakeholders on the name of the caretaker prime minister, he is scheduled to hold a meeting with the opposition leader tomorrow.
Reflecting on the dynamics of the political landscape, the prime minister reaffirmed the importance of pursuing policies that prioritise the nation’s welfare over personal agendas.

He affirmed that the law does not grant the prime minister the authority to take the speaker of the house to his private residence.
He shared his insights on how the country had progressed during Nawaz Sharif’s era, emphasising that load shedding and terrorism were curbed significantly.
However, he also maintained that post-2018, little progress had been made in the nation’s advancement.
Discussing the issue of corruption, he stated that no scandals of corruption had surfaced in the past 16 months, underlining his administration’s commitment to maintaining a clean governance record.
The prime minister emphasised that accountability should not be pursued out of vindictiveness, asserting that true justice was achieved when it was fair and impartial to all.
He reiterated that justice should be equitable and transparent, upholding the principle that justice must be blind to individual stature.
The prime minister highlighted his consistent call for discussions on the charter of the economy, expressing his concerns that the proposal had been neglected.
Stressing on constitutional norms, he concluded by affirming that under the constitution, the president will continue to exercise responsibility during the caretaker setup.
