Two suspects arrested for alleged rape, murder of housemaid

KARACHI: The police have apprehended two individuals, the sons of a bungalow owner, on suspicion of sexually assaulting and poisoning a 16-year-old housemaid, leading to her tragic demise.

The case was officially registered following a complaint by Koru Khan, the grieving father of the deceased girl, Sonia.

The charges in the case encompass murder, attempted murder, and rape, as per the police.

The complaint narrative reads, “I am a laborer by profession and was in Ghotki when my brother-in-law informed me that the wife of the bungalow owner had left my daughter Sonia at our house in a rickshaw.”

It goes on to recount, “When I reached the hospital from Ghotki, my wife told me that Sonia had gone to work at the bungalow in the morning, and when she came back, her throat was swollen and she was foaming at the mouth.”

The narrative also expresses suspicion that the sons of the bungalow owner, identified as Mohammad Altaf Memon, had poisoned Sonia after sexually assaulting her.

The authorities have taken the accused into custody, and they are currently under interrogation, as stated by the police.
