Train collision: Four Railway officials suspended

LAHORE: In the aftermath of the Mianwali Express train accident, Pakistan Railways has taken disciplinary action by suspending four railway officials due to alleged negligence.
The incident involved a collision between the Mianwali Express and a parked freight train, resulting in injuries to at least 31 passengers, including women and children, near Qilla Sattar Shah in the Sheikhupura district on Sunday.
The suspended officials are Ferozewala Kundian shed driver Muhammad Imran and assistant driver Muhammad Bilal, along with two others. The incident occurred a day after four bogies of a freight train derailed near the same railway station.

A committee, led by Deputy Principal Officers, has been formed by the department to investigate the incident, with a report expected to be submitted within 24 hours. Chairman Pakistan Railways, Mazhar Ali Shah, has also issued a statement asserting that legal action will be taken against those found responsible for the accident.
The injured passengers have been transported to a nearby hospital, with five of them reported to be in critical condition.
The Lahore-bound Mianwali Express collided with the stationary freight train on the main railway line.
