Six terrorists killed

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani security forces carried out two separate operations in South and North Waziristan, which have resulted in the killing of six terrorists.

During the exchange of fire, four soldiers were also martyred, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.

According to the ISPR, the first encounter took place in the Ghorum area of North Waziristan, where the security forces engaged in an intense firefight with terrorists. During the operation, security forces efficiently located the hideouts of the terrorists, leading to the killing of six terrorists. Among the deceased was the notorious terrorist commander Hazrat Zaman, who had been involved in numerous acts of terrorism, the ISPR said.

In the exchange of fire, Lance Naik Tabassum ul Haq, Sepoy Naeem Akhtar, and Sepoy Abdul Hameed displayed exceptional bravery but laid down their lives.

The second operation unfolded in the Asman Manza area of South Waziristan, where a fierce firefight took place between security forces and terrorists. Sepoy Farman Ali, who was part of the operation, was martyred during the exchange of fire.

As per the ISPR, Sepoy Farman Ali, aged 25, hailed from Kashmor district, Sepoy Tabassum ul Haq, aged 36, hailed from Rawalpindi district, Sepoy Naeem Akhtar, aged 30, hailed from Attock district, and Sepoy Abdul Hameed, aged 23.

The Pakistan army has reiterated the commitment to eliminate terrorism from the region, stating, “Our brave soldiers’ sacrifices only strengthen our resolve to eradicate the curse of terrorism from our land. The operations reflect the unwavering determination of Pakistani security forces to ensure peace and stability in the country.”
