Saturday holiday announced for public schools across Punjab

Lahore: All public schools across Punjab, including Lahore, will remain closed tomorrow, (Saturday) as per the announcement made by Punjab’s Provincial Minister for Education, Rana Sikandar Hayat.

Both teachers and students will have a day off this Saturday. However teachers are required to attend school for three hours on the following Saturday, August 24th.

During this time, they will prepare lesson plans and plan academic activities for the next 15 days.

According to the minister, the weekend holiday is part of a broader initiative to alleviate the heavy burden on teachers in government schools.

 “Teachers of government schools are burdened with work,” said Rana Sikandar Hayat. “The burden of teachers of government schools has been reduced.”

Starting from this week, the teaching process in Punjab’s government schools will now take place from Monday to Friday. Saturdays will be reserved exclusively for teacher training sessions, allowing educators to focus on improving their teaching skills and methodologies without the pressure of regular classes.
