ISLAMABAD: Islamabad has witnessed a notable increase in theft and robbery incidents, causing concern among residents and authorities. The city’s Safe City project, which has incurred substantial expenditures, is struggling to engage citizens effectively in addressing this security challenge.
A recent incident in the jurisdiction of Shams Colony police station highlights the severity of the situation. CCTV footage captured the actions of the culprits responsible for a robbery that transpired a few days ago. Despite the clear identification of the suspects in the footage, law enforcement agencies have thus far been unable to apprehend them.

The incident in question involved motorcycle-riding perpetrators who subjected lawyers to brutal violence during a robbery. The accused forcibly snatched mobile phones and a substantial amount of cash, amounting to hundreds of thousands of rupees, at gunpoint.
Among the victims was Advocate Abdul Qadoos, who, along with his clerical staff, was returning home from court when they fell prey to the armed robbers. The attackers subjected their victims to both robbery and physical assault, leaving the legal community and the public deeply concerned about the deteriorating security situation.
In response, the local police initiated an operation to locate and apprehend the suspects responsible for these criminal activities. However, the suspects are still at large.
