Rawalpindi Food Street sealed after drone attack

RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi food street has been sealed on Thursday after an Indian drone reportedly fell in the vicinity, creating panic in the area.
According to initial reports, the area has been sealed by the security forces.
Eyewitnesses reported that the drone fell on a tree causing fire in the area. The Rawalpindi food street area has been completely cordoned off and sealed by the security forces to gather the evidence.
Earlier DG ISPR in a press briefing had confirmed that 12 Indian drones have been shot down in various regions of the country including Rawalpindi, Lahore and Karachi.

Security has been placed on high alert across Punjab including the provincial capital, Lahore, following a series of incidents, including an explosion sound, a fire outbreak, and temporary suspension of flight operations.
Meanwhile, mock civil defence and Rescue 1122 drills are ongoing across Punjab, including Lahore.
These drills are part of a province-wide emergency preparedness campaign. The Punjab Chief Minister has directed strict monitoring of these exercises, while Rescue 1122 has launched similar drills in cities such as Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Multan, Sahiwal, and others.
Authorities have urged the public to remain calm but alert and to report any suspicious activity.
Inspector General (IG) Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, confirmed that police are on high alert amid the current situation in Lahore as well as the entire province.
