Meanwhile, weather in the ancient city mirrored that of its younger twin. The temperature was slightly warmer at 29 degrees Celsius, but the humidity remained a notable 74 per cent.

With the rain expected to commence shortly, residents were eager to expeire3nce the cooling effects of the impending showers.

However, air quality concerns will linger, with PM2.5 levels reported as “poor”, prompting health advisories for those venturing outside.

As the rain began to fall, the streets of both cities transformed into lively scenes of joy and relief. Children splashed in puddles, their laughter echoing through the air, while adults took a moment to appreciate the beauty.

The weather forecast for the day suggests that the rain will persist, with heavier downpours expected in the coming hours. The shift in weather is particularly welcome, as residents have been seeking refuge from the oppressive heat that has characterised the past few days.

Meteorologists advised residents to stay prepared for potential flooding in low-lying areas. Mobile weather applications are buzzing with real time updates, ensuring that residents remain informed about the rapidly changing conditions.
