LAHORE: Newly elected members of the Punjab Assembly, including Maryam Nawaz nominated Chief Minister Punjab, were sworn in on Friday,

Speaker Sibtain Khan administered an oath to the newly elected members of the Punjab Assembly, including 201 members of the PML-N.

The PA session, presided over by Speaker Sibtain, began after a delay of more than two hours on Friday.

A roar of slogans echoed in the House when Maryam Nawaz made her maiden entry in the house. PML-N MPAs carrying Nawaz Sharif’s photos raised continuous slogans as Maryam Nawaz walked into the house.

PML-N leader Marriyum Aurangzeb also took oath as a member of the Punjab Assembly for the first time.

This is the maiden provincial assembly session after the February 8 general elections, wherein the newly-elected members were sworn-in.

PML-N retains Islamabad’s three constituencies

At the outset of the delayed session, members of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidates and Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) chanted slogans against each other and exchanged hot words.
