PTI worker Hassan Niazi ‘arrested’

ISLAMABAD: Hassan Khan Niazi, a worker of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, has been taken into custody in Abbotabbad on charges related to his alleged involvement in the attack on Jinnah House that took place on May 9.

The arrest was confirmed by his father, Hafeezullah Niazi, who said that his son was apprehended from Abbottabad.

In a tweet, Hafeezullah Niazi stated, “My son Hassan Khan has been arrested from Abbotabbad. I hope legal formalities will be fulfilled, and no violation of the law will occur.”

PTI leaders Farrukh Habib also confirmed Hassan Niazi’s arrest, revealing that “Barrister Hassan Niazi was taken into custody from Abbottabad a while ago.”

He demanded that Hassan Niazi should be presented before the court in accordance with the law, ensuring his right to legal defence and the provision of access to his family.

Hassan Khan Niazi had been accused of being involved in the attack on Jinnah House that transpired on May 9. The incident marked a significant event that led to widespread arrests and legal actions.

Hassan Khan Niazi is the nephew of the former prime minister and the PTI chief.
