PTI cancels April 6 power show in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced cancelling public gathering scheduled to be held on Islamabad’s Parade Ground on April 6.

In a post on X, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said the decision had been taken in view of the Laylat-ul-Qadr.

He also urged the supporters to pray for the release and safety of all party workers and leaders including PTI founder Imran Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi.

PTI forms grand alliance to challenge govt

PTI had announced putting up a show of street power on April 6 for the autonomy of the judiciary and the release of prisoner number 804, party founder Imran Khan, im­prisoned in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail.

Gohar Ali Khan had claimed that the PTI leadership and activ­ists would fill up the Islamabad’s Pa­rade Ground. “Our gathering will be peaceful and out ultimate goal is to get Khan out of jail”, he said.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) had also directed authorities in the federal capital to grant permission to to hold a public gathering in the federal capital.
