PM welcomes US acknowledgement of Pakistan’s counter terrorism efforts

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Shahbaz Sharif welcoming US President Donald Trump’s praise has said that Pakistan has always played a critical role in counter-terrorism efforts.

In a post on his X handle, the Prime Minister thanked US President Donald Trump for acknowledging and appreciating Pakistan’s role and support in counter-terrorism efforts in Afghanistan.

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday thanked Pakistan for apprehending the Kabul airport bomber.

In a joint address to the Congress President Trump said the US remains committed to fighting religious extremist organisations.

He said Pakistan will continue to partner closely with the United States in securing regional peace and stability.

The Prime Minister said Pakistan has always played a critical role in counter-terrorism efforts aimed at denying safe havens to terrorists and militant groups the space to operate against any other country.

The Prime Minister said Pakistan remains steadfast in its resolve and unwavering commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

In this effort, he said Pakistan has rendered great sacrifices including the lives of over 80,000 of our brave soldiers and citizens.

Shehbaz Sharif said the resolve of our leadership and people remains unflinching to eradicate the menace of terrorism from the country.
