PIA ranks the lowest amongst domestic airlines

KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), the national carrier, has secured the lowest ranking among domestic airlines, according to a report released by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Thursday.

The rankings are based on the punctuality of flight schedules during the period from January to June 2023.

Private: PIA’s flights disrupted due to financial constraints

During this period, PIA found itself at the fifth position in the ranking of domestic flights. The departure ratio for domestic PIA flights was recorded at 58.24 percent.

In contrast, private airlines claimed the top four positions.

Private airline flights exhibited significantly better on-time departure performance compared to PIA. Notably, PIA recorded the highest number of flight departures and arrivals during the first half of 2023.
