Pakistanis released from Saudi jails reach home

ISLAMABAD: Seven Pakistanis who were released from various jails in Saudi Arabia reached home on Wednesday morning and were taken into custody by the Federal Investigative Agency (FIA).
The seven jailed Pakistanis arrived at Islamabad Airport via Saudia Flight SV 724 from Riyadh.

The Pakistanis who have been released from Saudi jails are Jawad, Shakeel, Khanullahm Mehrabm Tariq, Shoaib and Ahsanullah.
Upon arrival, the FIA has taken them into custody and shifted them to FIA cell for interrogations.
A total of 7,208 Pakistani prisoners have been released from Saudi jails between 2019 and 2024.
The issue of thousands of Pakistani workers imprisoned in Middle Eastern countries remains sensitive in Pakistan, where many believe that most detainees are impoverished laborers without proper legal assistance.
Each year, a significant number of Pakistanis migrate to the Middle East, mainly working in construction or as domestic helpers. The remittances they send back play a vital role in supporting Pakistan’s economy.
