ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Friday rejected recent statements made in the Indian Lok Sabha regarding Operation Sindoor calling them baseless and provocative. Addressing a weekly media briefing in Islamabad, the Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had offered India an impartial investigation into the Pahalgam incident, but New Delhi responded with aggression instead of cooperation. Khan also spoke about the ongoing Israeli oppression against Palestine.

“Pakistan gave a befitting response to Indian aggression,” said Khan, adding that innocent civilians were martyred in the cross-border attack carried out by India on the night of May 6 and 7.

He further said India was using the so-called “Operation Mahadev” narrative to justify harm to innocent people, which Pakistan strongly condemns. “Pakistan desires peace in the region,” Khan reiterated, “but will respond resolutely to any act of aggression from India.”

Responding to other developments, the FO spokesperson also condemned ongoing Israeli brutality in Palestine and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for a two-state solution to the Palestinian issue. Commenting on bilateral ties with the United States, Khan said Pakistan remained committed to a long-term partnership based on mutual respect and shared interests.
