Pakistan, China reaffirm ‘iron brotherhood’

ISLAMABAD: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Beijing stands with Pakistan in its time of need and will fully support flood victims adding that both countries share a common goal of regional peace.
At a joint press conference with Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Wang Yi said both countries have agreed to enhance cooperation in industry, agriculture, and mining. He added that China values its strategic partnership with Pakistan and will take relations to new heights.
Wang Yi said China and Pakistan will work together for regional peace and stability. “CPEC will be advanced with high-quality cooperation,” he said, adding that both sides will continue to expand collaboration in counterterrorism and trade.
The Chinese foreign minister described Pakistan as a “trusted friend” and expressed hope for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s upcoming visit to China.
Floods: PM assures political leaders of full federal support
Ishaq Dar, welcoming Wang Yi, said Pakistan highly values China’s role in its foreign policy. He said both sides discussed bilateral issues, trade expansion, and CPEC Phase Two projects.
Dar said Pakistan appreciates China’s support for the country’s sovereignty and regional security. He added that both nations have a consensus on all key issues and will keep working together for peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
6TH ROUND OF FOREIGN MINISTERS’ STRATEGIC DIALOGUE
The bilateral ties were discussed as Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held the 6th round of Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue here.
During the Dialogue, the two sides reviewed the entire gamut of Pakistan-China relations and discussed important regional and global issues, according to APP.
They also exchanged in-depth views on multiple facets of bilateral cooperation, including CPEC 2.0, trade and economic relations, multilateral cooperation, and people-to-people ties.
Besides underlining the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership between Pakistan and China, both sides also agreed to continue close coordination and communication, both bilaterally and at multilateral forums.
