Security plan for New Year’s Night

Strict action will be taken against violators without any discrimination, warned DC Lahore.

The notification was issued due to persistent smog in the city and concern over air pollution.

Urging the public to cooperate, the DC has said the district administration is actively working to combat smog.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Police has devised a comprehensive security plan for New Year’s Night. Special teams have been prepared to take immediate action against any law violations.

Special police squads have been formed to ensure law and order throughout the city while Dolphin Squad, PRU, and Elite Force teams will patrol the city extensively.

EFFECTS OF FIREWORKS ON ENVIRONMENT

Fireworks don’t simply vanish into the air after being set off. When burned with oxygen, they undergo a combustion reaction. This process results in two outcomes: brief entertainment and the release of harmful pollutants into the atmosphere.

The short-lived spectacle of fireworks contributes to air pollution, releasing contaminants like carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen, sulfur dioxide, and particulate matter. These emissions not only degrade air quality but also play a role in climate change.
