LAHORE:  The new academic year commenced across Punjab on Monday however students in Lahore are compelled to attend school without essential study materials

Nearly 48,000 schools in Lahore province are experiencing a shortage of free books due to budget constraints at the Punjab Textbook Board and escalating paper costs, resulting in limited book production.

Teachers in Lahore are also grappling with the inconvenience of having to visit warehouses in search of books.

Despite efforts by the Punjab Textbook Board to publish and distribute free books to schools in Lahore, the timely delivery remains a challenge.

Furthermore, the introduction of the new curriculum has yet to reach any school in the current academic year.

HUM News is actively seeking a response from the Education Department regarding this pressing issue.
