ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, while presenting his arguments in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) amendment case, said that Pakistan is currently under covert martial law.
The Supreme Court, after hearing arguments from the PTI founders, has reserved its verdict on the federal government’s intra-court appeal in today’s hearing.
During the hearing, the founder of PTI, while presenting his arguments, said that although the NAB amendment might make things easier for me, it will be detrimental to the country.

A five-member SC larger bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa and comprising Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi, took up the federal government’s intra-court appeal.
The founder of PTI expressed deep regret over being handed a 14-year sentence in the Toshakhana case. He argued that the prosecution had inaccurately assessed the value of the watch he received from a foreign dignitary during his tenure as prime minister, erroneously pegging it at Rs3 billion.
In his lament against what he deemed political victimization, the PTI founder emphasized the need for impartiality and fairness in the judicial process. He suggested that the Supreme Court should take charge and appoint a NAB chairman, aiming for transparency and justice in such cases.
During the hearing, Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, while making remarks, said that the PTI government also wanted only politicians to be held accountable.
