Monsoon Rains: High alert issued in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: With the start of heavy monsoon rains, the district administration has issued a high alert in Islamabad due to the potential threat of flash floods.

In this regard, the district administration has placed restrictions around water channels and issued alerts while quick response rescue teams have been instructed to stay on standby, particularly around make-shift settlements.

Eco-friendly electric buses inaugurated in Islamabad

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad has directed Assistant Commissioners to closely monitor their respective areas. He emphasized that in case of any emergency, Assistant Commissioners will immediately reach the site with their teams.

The DC Islamabad has directed CDA and MCI staff to remain on high alert around the clock and ensure their presence in the field and ensure water drainages.  He further instructed that no negligence would be tolerated in this regard and that immediate response to emergency calls is mandatory.
