Metro bus accident in Lahore leaves eight women injured

LAHORE: On Saturday, a Lahore Metro bus collided with a detached iron rod near the Janazgah station, injuring eight women.

The bus was running between Gajumata and Shahdara when it hit the rod, which was hanging over the track. The bus then lost control and rammed into the paling.

The injured women were taken to Mayo Hospital for treatment.

The Metro bus project in Lahore has been plagued by technical problems. Out of the 64 buses on the Gajumata-Shahdara route, 23 are currently out of service due to technical problems. In the past year, there have been 28 incidents of technical problems on this route. INP
