FAISALABAD: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated the electric buses in Faisalabad — the Manchester of Pakistan — and again blasted those criticising the province she rules, saying she would not tolerate any finger-pointing at Punjab.
In a direct reply to the PPP, the chief minister said the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) isn’t the answer to all problems and advised to keep “your advices to yourself”.

Addressing a ceremony to launch the modern transport service in Punjab’s second-largest city, Maryam said she always responded to criticism positively.
“Criticise me, it doesn’t me affect anyway,” she said, but warned that she would not tolerate any criticism of Punjab and its people no matter what happens.
Moreover, Maryam questioned, “Why some people have objection over the development of the people of Punjab.”
PUNJAB CAN MAKE IT’S OWN DECISIONS
“No one needs to make decisions about Punjab. Punjab can make its on decision,” said the chief minister about the province which is the PML-N stronghold ever since her father former three-time prime minister Nawaz Sharif joined politics and later formed his faction of PML.
About the protest which made the government reverse the plan to make vast tracts of land in Cholistan cultivable, Maryam said Punjab would have used its own share of water for the purpose.
“We are being criticised for not starting to carry the begging bowl after the flood devastation,” the chief minister remarked and question for how long Pakistan would continue to beg.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in his address to the UN General Assembly had rejected the panacea suggested by international financial institutions which calls for borrowing to deal with the climate change challenge.
And on Monday, Maryam again reminded the people that the names of two Sharifs — Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif — would always be written in history for development projects in Pakistan.
FAISALABAD, THE CITY THAT EXPORTS
Meanwhile, Maryam noted the contributions Faisalabad makes to the national economy and promised to provide every facility to the city.
She said it were not just the electric buses as the government was set to start constructing the Metro Bus project in Faisalabad in the coming days.
Unlike other cities, authorities have designed the Metro Bus project for Faisalabad comprehensively as it contains three lines.
