LAHORE: In recognition of the annual Urs celebrations of Hazrat Shah Hussain, widely revered as Madhu Lal Hussain, the provincial government has declared a public holiday in Lahore on March 2, 2024 (Saturday).
The 436th annual three-day festivities to commemorate Madhu Lal Hussain’s life and teachings are set to commence in the provincial capital.
The esteemed Secretary Auqaf, Dr. Tahir Raza, is scheduled to inaugurate the celebrations by undertaking the traditional chador laying ceremony at the saint’s grave.
This symbolic act marks the commencement of the revered event, with devotees and religious dignitaries joining in the ceremony.
The Religious Committee, Ulema Mushaikh, and a multitude of devotees are expected to actively participate in the three-day event, fostering an atmosphere of spirituality and unity.
The significance of Madhu Lal Hussain’s teachings resonates deeply with the community, drawing people from all walks of life to partake in the celebrations.
According to The News, to ensure the smooth execution of the event, the Auqaf Department has allocated a budget of Rs459,000 for the Urs grant.
This financial provision underscores the government’s commitment to facilitating and upholding the traditions associated with the annual celebration.
Additionally, local law enforcement agencies, in collaboration with the Auqaf Department, have implemented robust security measures to guarantee the safety of the visitors.
