Killer dumper kills five including schoolchildren in Lahore

LAHORE: Five people have been killed including two schoolgirls as a speedy dumper crashed into vehicles and bystanders at a bus stop in Baghanpura area of Lahore on Wednesday.
As per rescue sources, a a speeding dumper rammed into multiple rickshaws, motorcycles and bystanders near the Akhri Manzil bus stop on GT Road in Lahore’s Baghbanpura area killing five people including two schoolgirls and injuring four others
Those who lost their lives include 12-year-old Aima, 10-year-old Hafsa, 45-year-old Rafiqat, 41-year-old Dawood, and one unidentified person.

The injured include 26-year-old Ali, 10-year-old Afnan, 10-year-old Bilal, and 18-year-old Komal. They were shifted to Services Hospital and a nearby private facility for treatment.
Eyewitnesses reported that the truck appeared to suffer a brake failure before ramming into the vehicles.
The rescue team rushed to the scene and launched an immediate rescue operation. Four individuals were found trapped beneath the heavy vehicle. They were successfully extricated and given on-site medical aid before being transported to Services Hospital and Shalimar Hospital.
Police reached the scene and took the dumper into custody, while the driver fled. Further investigation is underway.
CM PUNJAB CONDOLES TRAGIC LOSS OF LIFE
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic dumper accident in Lahore’s Baghbanpura area.
She extended condolences to the families of the victims and said the government stands with them in this difficult time.
The Chief Minister also directed authorities to ensure the injured receive the best possible medical treatment and instructed officials to personally monitor arrangements at the hospitals.
