KARACHI: Karachi traffic police in order to provide relief to masses has waived charges for motorcycles and vehicles lifted from outside all shopping centers till Eid.

DIG Traffic Ahmed Nawaz announced to the citizens of Karachi that vehicles and motorcycles lifted after Iftar will be returned without penalty.

He also appealed to the public that the citizens should not park in new parking areas and in places that affect the flow of traffic.

He said that the traffic police officials have been prevented from issuing unnecessary challans, and have instructed the officials to issue challans for one-way and wrong-way violations.

Meanwhile, Karachi traffic police is also implementing comprehensive strategies to mitigate traffic congestion and parking challenges during peak shopping hours.

To ensure a peaceful environment for citizens, additional personnel have been stationed around major markets, and traffic police have restricted heavy traffic and public transport from accessing roads leading to shopping hubs.
