Karachi fishermen’s boat sinks near Gwadar


A fishing boat carrying six fishermen from Karachi sank near the coast of Gwadar, Balochistan.

GWADAR: A fishing boat carrying six fishermen from Karachi sank near the coast of Gwadar, Balochistan.

It resulted in two fishermen dying, including a father whose body was discovered, while his son remains missing.

The remaining four fishermen are reported missing, while one fisherman miraculously survived, as per the Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum spokesperson.

Fishermen on board belonged to the communities of Ibrahum Haider, Ali Akbar Shah Goth, and Machhar Colony in Karachi.

Emergency response teams are currently conducting search and rescue operations to locate the missing fishermen.

The incident once again brought to attention the dangerous conditions faced by fishermen operating in the Arabian Seat near the Gwadar coast.

No further details about the cause of the boat sinking or the condition of the survivor has been released yet.
