Ishaq Dar summoned in assets case

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned former finance minister Ishaq Dar in ‘assets beyond means’ case on October 10. Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir issued the orders.

After the enactment of the National Accountability Ordinance (Amend), the accountability court had closed assets beyond known sources of income case against Dar.

Earlier, the NAB sent back references against politicians to accountability courts after the Supreme Court struck down some sections of the amendments made to the National Accountability Ordinance (NAO) last year.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Supreme Court ordered restoration of corruption cases against public representatives as it struck down some sections of the amendments made to the country’s accountability laws last year by the previous coalition government. – INP
