Ishaq Dar acquitted in “assets beyond means” reference

ISLAMABAD: An accountability court in Islamabad delivered a verdict of acquittal on Monday for former finance minister and senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Senator Ishaq Dar, in an assets-beyond-means reference.

Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir, who had reserved the verdict, declared that no incriminating evidence was found against Ishaq Dar during the investigation conducted by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

The NAB, in a written statement submitted to the court, officially stated that they had decided not to pursue the case any further. Furthermore, the NAB expressed no objections to the acquittal of Ishaq Dar and other accused individuals involved in the case.
