High-level US delegation likely to bring investment to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: A high-level delegation from the United States has arrived in Pakistan on a two-day important visit, sources said. The delegation comprises of investors, and are likely to bring investment into Pakistan’s economy.

The delegation is being led by Texas hedge fund manager and close business partner of the Trump family, Gentry Beach. Sources said that the investment delegation’s visit to Pakistan is of utmost importance, especially given the timing, as it comes shortly after the new US government has taken office.

The US delegation’s visit to Pakistan will open new avenues for investment, and promote economic and bilateral relations between the two countries in various sectors, sources added.

During the delegation’s visit, several investment agreements have been signed between Pakistan and the US, sources said, adding that the arrival of the delegation members, especially Gentry Beach, to Pakistan is a major diplomatic success.

Gentry Beach has been a close associate of the Trump family and a frontrunner in President Trump’s previous election campaigns. This is the first visit by any US delegation after the new US government came to power.

Gentry Beach paid tribute to Pakistan during a ceremony after the presidential elections in Mar-a-Lago recently. He said, “The people of Pakistan have made great sacrifices in the war against terrorism, thousands of people have fallen victim to terrorism.”

Beach added, “Pakistan is an amazing country, the environment here is conducive to US President Trump.” He said that the people of Pakistan are eager to work with the United States on equal terms as a positive partnership and good friends.

Gentry Beach had also urged President Donald Trump in his speech to, “Make Pakistan-US relations stronger and more cooperative than before.”

This visit of the US investment delegation will prove to be very conducive for investment in various sectors between Pakistan and the United States, sources said.
