Heatwave: Karachi likely to get some relief from tomorrow

KARACHI: As Karachi residents continue to brave the heatwave, there is some hope of relief from the soaring temperatures from tomorrow (Sunday).
Due to partly cloudy weather conditions alongside high levels of heat and humidity Karachi, has been under the grip of a severe heatwave for the last three consecutive days.
The temperatures are expected to soar to 42 degrees Celsius today, according to the Met Department.
Rawalpindi residents given small respite as light rain falls
The city is experiencing partly cloudy conditions alongside high levels of heat and humidity.
The department reported that winds blowing from the west direction are adding to the discomfort, with speeds reaching up to 24 kilometres per hour. The humidity levels in the air are measured at 78 per cent, contributing to the oppressive heat.
According to the met office, there is a chance that the intensity of heat in the city will decrease from June 2. With the relief of heatwave in Karachi, the city is expected to remain partially cloudy since then, with temperatures ranging between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile mainly hot weather is expected in most areas of country, while very hot with dust raising winds/ gusty winds in southern parts during the next twelve hours.
However, windstorm/gusty winds with isolated rain-thunderstorm is expected in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Punjab, Pothohar region and Islamabad.

Islamabad twenty-seven degrees centigrade, Lahore thirty, Karachi thirty-one, Peshawar twenty-five, Quetta sixteen, Gilgit thirteen, Murree nineteen and Muzafarabad twenty-three degree centigrade.
