Four terrorists killed in Kalat operation

RAWALPINDI: Security forces eliminated four Indian backed terrorists in Kalat district of Balochistan, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday, as operations have been intensified in the terrorism-infested western provinces of Pakistan in recent days.

According to the details shared by the ISPR, the security forces raided the terrorists hideouts in an intelligence-based operation, which triggered a firefight.

The effective operation resulted in the death of four terrorists, from whom a large quantity of arms and ammunition were also seized.

Meanwhile, the ISPR says the dead terrorists were involved in multiple acts of terrorism and a clearance operation is underway in the area to identify, apprehend or kill their associates, if any.

In his reaction, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for their valour and said the entire nation stood by them in the fight against terrorism.

Earlier on Saturday, security forces nine terrorists were killed and three security officers injured in a gunfight Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Meanwhile, Imran Khan-led government’s decision to allow the TTP members to move from Afghanistan and resettle in Pakistan has resulted in an alarming rise in terrorism.

At the same time, District Police Officer (DPO) Khalid Khan as well as a SHO were also injured in the operation. The district police chief reportedly received three bullet wounds.

In a separate joint operation, security forces, police and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) killed at nine terrorists and arrested another eight in Malakand district.

This operation lasted for four days, the ISPR said.
