FIA summons former chairman Wapda

LAHORE: Federal Investigative Agency’s (FIA) has summoned former WAPDA chairman lieutenant general (r) Muzammil Hussain in Rs1454 million corruption case.
According to the notice, former chairman WAPDA has been asked to appear personally before FIA’s anti-corruption circle Lahore on March 22.
Lieutenant General (r) Muzammil Hussain was directed by FIA to clear his position with record and proofs. He is accused of giving undue favour to the contractor of Kyal Khar Hydropower Project.
Revenue official arrested, sent to jail in corruption case
According to notice, inquiry was registered against Muzammil Hussain on the complaint of Transparency International Pakistan.
During his tenure as chairman, WAPDA faced over 1454 million rupees loss to the national exchequer.
In 2022, NAB also started probe against Muzamil Hussain on corruption charges.
