Female driver involved in hit and run accident arrested

ISLAMABAD: The female driver who had run over a motorway police officer in Islamabad has been arrested from Rawalpindi.

The entire incident was filmed and posted on social media, showing her arguing in an abusive manner with the Motorway Police officer for being pulled over for speeding.

She later fled the scene through a broken toll plaza barrier and drove her car over an officer standing in front of the vehicle, leaving him injured. The extent of his injuries are unknown.

Police in Rawalpindi’s Naseerabad arrested the woman, who has been identified as Farah. She had been charged with attempted murder and negligent driving

The vehicle used by the woman in the incident has also been found and taken into custody.

Rawalpindi police said it had used ‘latest technology’ to arrest the woman. Police had sprung into action after the incident’s video went viral on social media. However, it had been revealed that the incident’s FIR was registered on January 2.
