Earthquake tremors jolt Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Earthquake tremors were felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and its surrounding areas on Tuesday morning at 10:20 am local time.

According to reports, tremors were also felt in Peshawar, Charsadda, Swat, Chitral, Malakand and Abbottabad. Earthquake intensity was recorded at 5.2 on the Richter scale.

The epicentre of the earthquake was the Hindukash mountains in Afghanistan.

Murree Expressway closed due to landsliding

The earthquake created panic in the flood-hit areas of Swat and Malakand, as people are still reeling from the devastation caused by the recent floods.

So far no loss of life or property has been reported.
