Dead body of Hindu engineer recovered from apartment

KARACHI: The dead body of a Hindu civil engineer was recovered from his apartment in Gulistan Johar area of Karachi. The police have included the wife in the investigation process.

According to the police, In Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Johar Block 19, near the street of the Imambargah, a man was killed with a sharp weapon inside a residential apartment building.

The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Rahul Kumar, son of Raj Kumar. The deceased was a civil engineer and a contract employee. He belonged to Shikarpur, interior Sindh.

According to the police, Rahul Kumar was butchered. The wife of the deceased informed the police three to four hours after the incident raising doubts.

The wife in her statement to the police said, that a masked man entered their house and  slit the throat of Rahul, and fled.

The police have included the wife in the interrogation process on the basis of reasonable doubt. However, no arrest has been made yet.

While CCTV footage of the residential building has been obtained and statements of the neighbours and other residents have also been recorded.

The residents of the area told the police that the couple had just moved into the apartment a month back and they don’t know the couple that much. The couple were newlyweds and had no children

According to the police, a man with a mask can be seen coming in and out of the apartment building. However, nothing concrete can be said about the incident till the completion of the investigative process.
