WEB DESK: The Cabinet Division has issued a directive to government officials, advising them not to download files from unknown numbers or email addresses. This move aims to combat the rising threat of cyber-attacks targeting official communications.
According to sources, the Cabinet Division has circulated a notice to federal ministries, divisions, and provincial governments. The notice highlights that cyber-attacks are increasingly carried out through WhatsApp numbers and fake emails.
Hackers exploit these methods to deliver malicious messages, often using compromised mobile numbers and email addresses.
The notice also reveals that hackers employ fake domain numbers and sophisticated software to attempt cyber-attacks. They send infected files through these deceptive channels in an effort to gain unauthorised access to various systems.
The communication stresses the importance for all government officials and staff to adhere to these guidelines to safeguard against potential cyber threats.
