Couple shot dead in Bhara Kahu Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Armed individuals fatally shot a young couple and injured a minor girl during a dispute over the passageway in the Bhara Kahu area, as reported by the police on Tuesday. Taking immediate notice of the incident, IGP Akbar Khan directed the authorities to apprehend the culprits swiftly.

The altercation began when two neighbouring families engaged in a heated argument over the passage rights to their homes. The verbal dispute escalated into violence when one neighbour resorted to opening fire on the other.

As a result of the firing 31-year-old Asim and his wife, Rida Noor lost their lives, while their one-and-a-half-year-old daughter sustained gunshot wounds. The accused fled the scene after committing the double murder.

The bodies and the injured child were promptly transported to the Federal Government Services Hospital (Poly Clinic) for medico-legal procedures.

In response to the incident, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Akbar Khan Durrani, taking serious note, directed the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) to expedite the arrest of the culprits. The police, having registered a case, initiated raids to apprehend those responsible.
